How we match inquiries with certification bodies
We match only with partners whose status, verified scope, territory and evidence are current, and a person reviews each match. If no eligible partner exists, we say so instead of forcing a match.

The idea
Not every certification body can certify every standard in every place. Showing a standard on this site does not mean a partner holds scope for it. Before we pass on an inquiry we check whether a partner is actually eligible for it.
What we check
Partner status
The partner must be approved in our records, after review. A partner that is pending, suspended or removed is not eligible.
Verified scope and scheme
The standard or scheme you asked about must be inside the scope we have verified for that partner. We record the schemes the partner says it offers and the evidence behind them.
Accreditor
We record which accreditation body accredited the partner for that scope. Where you state an accreditation requirement in your inquiry, we use it in the match.
Territory
The partner must cover the location where your organization works.
Current evidence
Evidence must be current. A partner whose evidence has expired is not eligible until it is renewed. We schedule reviews before evidence expires.
Not suspended or expired
We do not match with a partner whose accreditation or approval is suspended, withdrawn or out of date, as far as our records show.
Human review
A person on our team reviews each inquiry and the proposed match. Matching is not fully automatic. Records of who approved a partner, and when, are kept.
When no partner is eligible
If no eligible partner exists for your standard, sector or location, we say so. We do not force a match, and we do not imply that a provider is available. You can still use our guides to prepare and return later.
What we verify and what we do not
| We check | We do not do |
|---|---|
| Evidence the partner provides about its accreditation and scope | Audit or accredit the partner |
| That records are current at the time of review | Guarantee the partner's future standing |
| Fit between your inquiry and the partner's verified scope | Promise a quote, price, timeline or certification |
| That the partner is named when selected | Decide your certification or what a buyer accepts |
Partner standing can change after our review. Check accreditation yourself before you sign, using accreditation check.
